Education and Early Career
After earning a Political Science degree and a Health and Life Science minor from the University of California, Santa Barbara, Drew relocated to Sacramento in 2003 to attend McGeorge School of Law at the University of the Pacific. He honed his legal skills as a clerk at the Tronvig Law Firm and Wilcoxen Callaham, LLP before being admitted to the California Bar in 2006. Since then, Drew has committed his career to advocating for his clients’ best interests, achieving numerous favorable verdicts and settlements.
Career Highlights
Trial and Settlements: Successfully tried numerous cases to verdict and secured multiple multi-million-dollar settlements.
Appellate Work: Drew has handled numerous appellate court cases, including drafting the brief for Whitlow v. Rideout Memorial Hospital, 237 Cal.App.4th 631, a decision that held that a hospital can be accountable for the actions of an independent contractor emergency room physician when it fails to provide adequate notice of the employment status.
Lien Issues: Working alongside his late mentor and law partner, Daniel Wilcoxen, Drew became a frequent resource for attorneys handling complex lien disputes. Together, Dan and Drew handled numerous lien matters and appeals, helping clients retain substantially more of their recoveries by reducing or eliminating asserted claims. In one case, they reduced an asserted hospital lien from $4.3 million to $44,000. In another, they helped eliminate $1.6 million in liens, with the benefit flowing directly to their 10-year-old quadriplegic client.
Drew is the current Vice President of the Capital City Trial Lawyers Association and has spoken on topics including the No Surprises Act and AI in litigation.

5 stars – No other personal injury law firm could have handled our case as did Dan Wilcoxen and Drew Widders. They were able to successfully work through an abstinent opposition and resolve our case, exceeding our expectations. We truly appreciated the straight-forward, no BS approach while at the same time keeping up apprised of the status of our case throughout the proceedings. Their knowledge of the law is unparalleled, and with a friendly and courteous staff, this sets them apart from their competition, making them the last stop in legal representation. Thank you Dan and Drew! [Laura T.]
