At Wilcoxen Callaham, we believe in investing in the future of law—and that starts with mentoring bright, motivated law students through our Summer Law Clerk Program. Launched in 2023, this exciting initiative was designed to train and inspire the next generation of personal injury attorneys in a hands-on, real-world environment.
Each summer, we welcome a dynamic team of three full-time law clerks from May through August. Most of our talented participants come from UC Davis School of Law, King Hall, with additional standout students joining us from UOP McGeorge School of Law and Lincoln Law School. We’re incredibly lucky to have such a strong network of law schools right here in our community!
Our clerks dive right into the action—handling client intakes, presenting cases during our always-spirited weekly attorney round table discussions, and exploring complex issues like negligence, liability, standard of care, and damages. But that’s just the beginning. Clerks also get to observe depositions, arbitrations, mediations, and sometimes even participate in trials—getting front-row exposure to trial prep and jury selection.
What truly sets our program apart is the remarkable talent and diversity our clerks bring. Their impressive resumes reflect a wide range of academicaccomplishments, unique life experiences, and interesting hobbies that add vibrancy to our team. We’re constantly inspired by their energy, perspective, and drive.
Beyond the courtroom, we enjoy hosting lunches and special events to get to know our clerks on a more personal level—and to show them just how fun a law firm can be!
This program offers our clerks an invaluable experience that goes beyond the classroom—giving them practical skills, professional confidence, and meaningful connections that will serve them for years to come.
We’re thrilled to kick off another great summer in 2025. Interviews are already underway, and we can’t wait to meet the next group of rising stars!
